Frequently asked Fico-Question #1: How to point my domain name to The Dedi'
Name servers dictate where someone goes when they type in your domain name. Name servers are (almost) as important as the web host themselves. Here's how to change your name servers for your domain so that it points to The Ficus Dedi' down in Tejas.
Step One: Go to your domain name registrar company on the Web. Log in to your account by typing your username and password in the appropriate fields.
Step Two: Find the domain name that you want to point to The Dedi'. If you have multiple domain names you will want to make sure you choose the correct name (or better yet point them all our way).
Step Three: Go to the domain name's control panel or configuration page by clicking on the link. Choose the link that will allow you to change the domain name's name servers from the different configuration options.
Step Four: Delete the old name servers from the field and enter the new Ficus name servers. Enter the correct name server codes for the primary and secondary fields, which are:
ns1.ficushosting.com
ns2.ficushosting.com
Step Five: Save the changes you made. Depending on your registrar company, the modifications you made may take from 24 to 48 hours before they can take effect. It does not usually take this long, but don’t be alarmed if it does.
Step Six: Mix yourself up a much-deserved Martini; you've put in a hard day at the office
